Our team at 7Sigma created Public Outage Map (POM) to help you forge stronger relationships with subscribers and improve operational efficiency. Utilizing our tool, your business can empower subscribers to self-diagnose their connectivity issues, resulting in more efficient communication, better utilization of human and financial resources, and more. Below, you’ll find some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about our network outage map product.

Frequently Asked Questions About POM

How much does POM cost?

POM operates on a tiered pricing model. This structure ensures that as your organization grows, the cost per circuit decreases. Specific pricing details can be found within your instance. Payments are prorated based on your current term and billed annually.

Can POM be customized for our business?

While the core functionality of POM is standardized to ensure rapid deployment, it is designed to be embedded directly into your website or customer-facing application. This approach allows your customers to access crucial outage information as quickly as possible.

What do the numbers shown on POM represent?

The numbers on POM represent ONTs in a severe state, which could be due to mass outages, storms, fiber cuts, or even customers unplugging their ONTs. This presentation allows the public to identify outages in their area while protecting your subscribers’ personal information.

If we are not interested in posting POM on a public webpage, how can it benefit our team internally?

Internally, your team can use POM as a centralized monitoring tool to get a clear view of ONTs in specific areas. If a known outage occurs, you have the option to then publish this information to your website or app to keep subscribers informed.

How "real-time" is POM?

POM is automatically populated by your ONT Sweep Map. When an ONT enters a severe state, POM updates to include the new outage during the next backend poll, which typically takes less than five minutes.

Can we adjust the timeframe for outages displayed on POM?

Yes, the system allows you to customize the duration that outages are displayed on the map. You can set it to be shorter or longer than the default 48 hours.

If we use Adtran, are we still able to get this product on MSI?

Yes, the product will be added to your MSI under the Sweep Map. Once purchased, you will be billed through Adtran.
