Numbers in bubbles signifying network outages on the Public Outage Map.

Our team at 7Sigma created Public Outage Map (POM) to help you forge stronger relationships with subscribers and improve operational efficiency. Utilizing our tool, your business can empower subscribers to self-diagnose their connectivity issues, resulting in more efficient communication, better utilization of human and financial resources, and more. Below, you’ll find some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about our network outage map product.

How much does POM cost?

POM operates on a tiered pricing model. This structure ensures that the larger your organization, the lower the cost per circuit. Your specific pricing can be found within your instance. Payments are prorated for your current term and billed annually.

Can POM be customized for our business?

While the core functionality of POM is standardized to ensure rapid deployment, it is designed to be embedded directly into your website or customer-facing application. This approach allows your customers to access crucial outage information as quickly as possible.

What do the numbers shown on POM represent?

The numbers on POM represent ONTs in a severe state, which could be due to mass outages, storms, fiber cuts, or even customers unplugging their ONTs. This presentation allows the public to identify outages in their area while protecting your subscribers’ personal information.

If we are not interested in posting POM on a public webpage, how can it benefit our team internally?

Internally, your team can use POM as a centralized monitoring tool to get a clear view of ONTs in specific areas. If a known outage occurs, you have the option to then publish this information to your website or app to keep subscribers informed.

How "real-time" is POM?

POM is populated automatically by your ONT Sweep Map. Once an ONT shows up in severe state, POM will be updated to include the new outage on the next backend poll, which should take less than 5 minutes.

Can we adjust the timeframe for outages displayed on POM?

Yes, you can customize the duration of time that outages appear on the map to be shorter or longer than the default of 48 hours.

If we use Adtran, are we still able to get this product on MSI?

Yes, the product will be added to your MSI under the Sweep Map. Once purchased, you will be billed through Adtran.
